Diapers & Sanitary Pads

On our recent trip to Ukraine, we received many requests for diapers, both for adults and children. These requests are due to people being unable to afford these essential items themselves. A simple solution would be to provide cloth diapers but, this is not a feasible option in many of the locations especially among the fleeing refugees.

We donated these to the churches in Kharkiv for them to distribute. Although the adult diapers are a little bit less expensive in Ukraine, the children's diapers were roughly twice the price that we can purchase them for in Canada. So we are raising funds for this cause so that when we do ship containers to parts of Ukraine where this is an especially large need, then we can also add a skid of diapers to that shipment.

There have also been a number of times that we have received a special request to include diapers into shipments when we didn't have time to order a pallet. Instead, we have made the request known to some supporters, who have pitched in to purchase and donate diapers specifically for shipment. This has been a great way to get more involvement and giving people the opportunity to donate to specific, urgent needs.

Along the same lines as the diapers is the request for wet-wipes. Especially in the villages that don't have electricity or a reliable supply of water, there is a huge need for sanitary wipes. Faith Mission has sent a number of pallets full of wet-wipes to Ukraine. These wipes have been purchased locally in Canada and then sent with our shipment of clothes.
